AGE:

There is no limit to the number of times you may rewrite your Matric as long as you are still under the age of 21. If you are over 21 then you can apply for a matric upgrade.

TIME LIMITS

You can rewrite Matric up to five years after your Matric year. After that, you can apply for a Matric Upgrade instead.

PREVIOUS ATTEMPTS

You need to have passed a certain number of subjects in your previous attempt at the matric exams in order to be eligible to rewrite the exams. If you failed Matric, you must be able to pass by improving the marks of two subjects or fewer. You may not change any subjects for a Matric Rewrite, they must be subjects you wrote for your Matric final exams (if you are writing s mstric upgrade bec use you are over 21, then you can choose which subjects to change.

FEES

There is no cost involved in registering to rewrite matric. Bear in mind though, that there is lot of preparation work that needs to be done on your part (remember the mountsin of work you hsd when you wrote your matric the first time) and often it is better to do this through a training organisation that specislidses in the rewriting of matric. These organisagtions will incur fees. In addition, if you choose to prepare for your matic using distance learning, you will need a computer nd data in order to acces the internet.
