I’m not a South African citizen. Can I write the South African matric?
Even if you are not a citizen of South Africa, you can take the Adult Matric. You need the following to apply to study for the Adult Matric at a South African educational institute:
- evidence of current residency
- evidence of your highest level of education
- a certified copy of your passport
- a legalized duplicate of your visa
Your greatest level of education must be recognized by SAQA (the South African Qualifications Authority). This is done so that the educational institution you are applying to knows what level of education you have.
Depending on the province in which you are attending school, you will register to take the tests in that province.
