Learning a skill could be another way to get over not having a matric. There are a number of Further Education and Training (FET) Colleges that offer skills training in many fields such as computers, administration, carpentry and beauty to name a few that don’t require you to already have a matric qualification.

There are many organisations that  offer skills training worth considering and who won’t require you to have a matric certificate. Some of these are listed below:

Entrepreneurship Skills Course

Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB)
You want to know that the time and resources you’ve invested in your studies are going to result in a qualification that’s reputable and recognised. All of the ICB’s qualifications are registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) – giving you peace of mind. You do not necessarily have to be in possession of a matric certificate to obtain an NQF level 4 qualification in finances. Siyaloba Training Academy
Siyaloba Training Academy provides an ‘open-access’ learning and assessment system. Learners are enrolled in programmes after either a client line manager or the candidate initiates a request him/herself. If the request is consistent with the Skills Plan and/or the individual’s development plan and/or service contract, the learner is enrolled on the programme.

Siyazenzela Programme
Siyazenzela (meaning “We are doing it for ourselves”), is a four-week short term basic employability and wellness course, which aims to see young people from previously disadvantaged communities gain job preparedness skills whilst also developing personal insight and understanding of themselves. The overriding objective of the Siyazenzela courses is to see young people progress from unemployment to employment by providing them with skills and vocational education opportunities leading to new pathways i.e. paid employment, post-secondary education or entrepreneurship opportunities.
